First heard this cd from my brother, loved it so much I had to have my own copy. Thank you for making this cd.
Several years ago, I found out Gamma Ray was making their first ever stop in Minnesota and I just had to go. Thankfully I got to the show early,
because one of the opening bands was Avian. I thought, "hot dang, these Minnesota boys got some skills".rnrnAfter their set, Lance King,
the vocalist of Avian, was selling their debut CD at his Nightmare Records booth. How could I pass that up. I bought it, brought it home and
listened to it.rnrnThe first time I listened to "From The Depths Of Time" from beginning to end, I was like hmm, not too bad. It was heavy
and melodic. Just what I like.rnrn"The Fear" has a great groove to it, if that can even be said about a metal song. I really love the
intro to the song when the bass is all by itself setting the groove for the rest of the song to follow. rnrn"Single Blade of Vengeance" has
a nice driving rhythm. If there was one song on the CD that would inspire me to smash something, this song would be it.rnrn"Time is All We
Need" is a nice and powerful power ballad. Well, not exactly a ballad, because it gets nice and heavy for the last minute of the song.rnrnThe
only drawback is that the songs are all mid-tempo songs. They need some faster songs to really break out. I know that they have the skills to pull
it off.rnrn"From The Depths Of Time" is a great first effort by the band. It makes a fine addition to my collection.
