Born in Rio de Janeiro back in the late 90's, Dead Nature started with the goal to create a sound based on heavy rock dinosaurs like Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Rainbow and Black Sabbath - which were later joined by other influences from the metal and progressive world genres.
The first years on the road saw the band conquer Rio's underground circuit with energetic concerts that earned the young musicians a handful of prizes, such as the first position on FestValda 1998 (then one of the most important contests in the city).
In 2001, Dead Nature released their first self-titled EP, that received mass approval from both critics and fans. More concerts followed, and it was clear that the band was ready to record its first full-length album.
Overload Records recognized their potential and offered a contract that resulted in the highly-acclaimed "Pure Impressions", an impressive work of melodic power metal that combines energy, technique and raw power.
